A country is known by its economic growth. And the economy of the country enjoys an imperial status only when its manufacturing industries get a boost along with service providing industries. In India where scopes bloom at almost every corner, economy deserves a facelift with consistent manufacturing practices. This eventually empowers the growth and development of the country. To fuel such development Government of India (GOI) announced National Manufacturing Policy (NMP) in 2011 with an objective to enhance the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25% and to generate 100 million jobs over a decade.
NMP promotes industrial clusters and aggregation through the establishment of National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZ), all over the country. Till 2013-14, 16 NIMZ have been set up in various parts and Telengana state is one of them. Under the exemplary leadership of honourable chief minister Sri K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Telengana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (TSIIC) makes the most of this policy with the proposal of establishing National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZ) at Nyalkal and Jharasangam mandals near Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district of Telengana. The project covers a huge area of 12,635 acres, in pursuit NMP of Department of Industry and Policy Promotion (DIPP), GOI.
While Indian economy has been struggling since Covid times, Telengana has experienced a healthy economic growth with an annual GDP growth rate at 14.2%. Needless to point out that Sri K. Chandrashekhar Rao has played a winning innings with his master stroke in favour of welfare of the state. Sri K. Chandrashekhar Rao continues the welfare schemes with a new vigour and creates a renaissance while converting Telengana to an emerging manufacturing sector, with TSIIC. The mission of TSIIC is to encourage the overall growth and development of the state and widening the economic corridor.
TSIIC targets to provide world-class eco system for manufacturing industries and proposes to establish infrastructure facilities for the proposed NIMZ, Zaheerabad. The processing area includes separate manufacturing zone for different industries where good manufacturing practices would always on the roll. There is also provision for selected service industries based on the market and demand assessment study undertaken. With an objective to cater better life, NIMZ sets its best foot forward in Telengana for a huge economic development of not only the state but also the whole country. Sri Rao’s initiative to recreate Telengana with number of manufacturing industries is a role model for the rest, at present.
